Loch Shin Glamping Pods have the privilege of being situated directly in the centre of the NC500 - a beautiful scenic road route that takes you through northern Scotland. The NC500 is a 516-mile circular route that starts and ends in Inverness, taking in some of the most spectacular scenery that the country has to offer. We are launching the Loch Shin Pods Crofting Experience from this April and we cannot wait to get going.   Since buying this beautiful piece of land in September 2019, we have been adding to the animals we look after here, alongside our four glamping pods.   That list now includes: chickens, Highland cows, alpaca, red deer and sheep.   We have always encouraged visitors, especially ones with children, to come and visit the animals and that has always proved very popular with the little ones.   Crofting experience   So, we have decided to make a thing of it and provide an adventure we hope our visitors will never forget.   We are not putting a price on it. If you enjoy your Crofting Experience, you are welcome to make a small donation that will go towards the cost of the animal food. At the end, you are welcome to collect some eggs (hopefully) from the chickens and if you don’t fancy making your own breakfast, you can treat yourself to a delicious bacon roll and freshly ground coffee from our new food hut, the Antler.   An small Highland croft allows you to get up close and personal with some of the region's most beloved creatures.   You will have a hands-on opportunity to learn about the daily routines and care of farm animals. If the time is right, you can feed them as well as learning about their individual personalities.   Rural Scotland   The Crofting Experience also provides an opportunity to learn more about a traditional way of life in rural Scotland. Amazingly we’re already one week into our tenure here at Loch Shin Luxury Pods and we have been busy.   We’ve had a fab time exploring our new home and talking about all of the things that we’d like to do, both with the business and with our time, now that we are finally here.   It was really important for us to get to grips with the business as quickly as possible.  As regular users of camping and glamping facilities ourselves, we know how important it is to be able to see as well as read about what a site has to offer, so we’ve been busy getting a bucketful of pictures from around the site for use on our website and social media.  We’ve got the basics in place now and you can expect more pictures and videos of Loch Shin life as we go.   We’ve had our trusty dogs with us to help us with all this too.  We have always had dogs and can’t wait to enjoy all of the stunning and breathtaking views on the local walks here. JD is an amazing dog trainer and we are looking forward to adding more to our family at some point soon.   We’ll aim to keep you up to date with everything that’s going on via this blog and hope to welcome you to Loch Shin sometime soon.
